Saline River Canoe Race

Need equipment? Saline River Canoe provides canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals, along with shuttle services and guided float trips suitable for all experience levels. Visit their website for details.

For anglers, the Saline River is a true treasure. According to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, it is home to diverse species, from smallmouth bass to the rare Ouachita madtom—found only in this river.

There are six access points along the Saline River Water Trail. A popular and relaxing option is the 4.5-mile float from Peeler Bend to Lyle Park, which typically takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on water levels. For a longer adventure, consider the 9-mile Paul Wright float, which can be completed in 4 to 5 hours under similar conditions.

The range is located right off of Mary Kay Lane next to the Hooked On Fishing Lake. This archery range is part of the Parks Department commitment to bring non-traditional programs like youth fishing, canoeing and archery to the community. The Benton Mountain Bike Park is a premier destination designed for riders of all skill levels—from beginners to experienced thrill-seekers. Featuring more than four miles of professionally built trails by Progressive Trail Design, the park offers a diverse range of experiences, including beginner-friendly green trails, advanced jump lines, a dual slalom course, and even a wall ride for those seeking an extra challenge. Since opening in 2024, the Benton Mountain Bike Park has quickly become a regional attraction, drawing visitors and mountain biking enthusiasts from across the area.

Conveniently located at 1100 S. Market Street, the park provides a unique blend of adventure and accessibility, making it one of Arkansas’s premier biking destinations.

Tyndall Park

Tyndall Park, located at 913 E. Sevier Street, spans over 24 acres and offers something for everyone. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy 5 youth softball fields, 4 tennis courts, 2 full basketball courts, a disc golf course, 3 outdoor pickleball courts, and 7 pavilions with 2 gazebos. Families with young children will love the inclusive playground which includes a see-saw, saucer swing, zipline, merry-go-round, steam roller slide, and a variety of hands-on activities—all within a fully gated area for added safety. Nearby gazebos and picnic tables make it easy to relax while the kids play.

For skate and bike enthusiasts, the Tyndall Park Skate Park offers a flat board, double half pipe, vert ramp, grind rails, and boxes—all metal. There is no cost to skate and pads are not required. Check out the annual RollerSkate Fest through Benton Parks & Recreation.

When the sun is shining, cool off at the Tyndall Park Splash Pad, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the summer months. Kids can splash under the larger-than-life water bucket dumper, interactive water spouts, misting arc, and water-shooting guns, with 70 gallons of water pumped per minute for endless fun.

Finally, take a relaxing stroll along the 0.75-mile walking trail that winds around the playground and park amenities, making Tyndall Park a perfect destination for fun, fitness, and family time.
